Behold, the wicked man conceives evil and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies.He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole that he has made.His mischief returns upon his own head, and on his own skull his violence descends.
The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin.He dies for lack of discipline, and because of his great folly he is led astray.
“ Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”But he does not know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
saying,“ I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said,“ What is that to us? See to it yourself.”And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself.
But you, O God, will cast them down into the pit of destruction; men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in you.
