Luke 18:18-30
And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, even God.Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother.And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.And they that heard it said, Then who can be saved?But he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.And Peter said, Lo, we have left our own, and followed thee.And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or wife, or brethren, or parents, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the world to come eternal life.

And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,Honor thy father and thy mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.The young man saith unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet?Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sorrowful; for he was one that had great possessions.And Jesus said unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, It is hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.And when the disciples heard it, they were astonished exceedingly, saying, Who then can be saved?And Jesus looking upon them said to them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.Then answered Peter and said unto him, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee; what then shall we have?And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that ye who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.And every one that hath left houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.But many shall be last that are first; and first that are last.
