The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand.Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. Numbers 26:52-55
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:“ To these the land shall be divided as an inheritance, according to the number of names.To a large tribe you shall give a larger inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a smaller inheritance. Each shall be given its inheritance according to those who were numbered of them.But the land shall be divided by lot; they shall inherit according to the names of the tribes of their fathers.

Exodus 23:27-31
“ I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you.I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you.Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the River. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

Joshua 14:1-15
These are the areas which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel distributed as an inheritance to them.Their inheritance was by lot, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes and the half-tribe.For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe on the other side of the Jordan; but to the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.For the children of Joseph were two tribes: Manasseh and Ephraim. And they gave no part to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their common-lands for their livestock and their property.As the Lord had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did; and they divided the land.Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him:“ You know the word which the Lord said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea.I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart.Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God.So Moses swore on that day, saying,‘ Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old.As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.And the name of Hebron formerly was Kirjath Arba( Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim). Then the land had rest from war.

And now the Lord your God has given rest to your brethren, as He promised them; now therefore, return and go to your tents and to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.

“ Command the children of Israel, and say to them:‘ When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance— the land of Canaan to its boundaries.Your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom; then your southern border shall extend eastward to the end of the Salt Sea;your border shall turn from the southern side of the Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and be on the south of Kadesh Barnea; then it shall go on to Hazar Addar, and continue to Azmon;the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and it shall end at the Sea.‘ As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your western border.‘ And this shall be your northern border: From the Great Sea you shall mark out your border line to Mount Hor;from Mount Hor you shall mark out your border to the entrance of Hamath; then the direction of the border shall be toward Zedad;the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and it shall end at Hazar Enan. This shall be your northern border.‘ You shall mark out your eastern border from Hazar Enan to Shepham;the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain; the border shall go down and reach to the eastern side of the Sea of Chinnereth;the border shall go down along the Jordan, and it shall end at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with its surrounding boundaries.’”Then Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying:“ This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.
