Y-sai 41 21-Y-sai 41 26
“ Present your case,” says the Lord.“ Set forth your arguments,” says Jacob’s King.“ Tell us, you idols, what is going to happen. Tell us what the former things were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome. Or declare to us the things to come, tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods. Do something, whether good or bad, so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear. But you are less than nothing and your works are utterly worthless; whoever chooses you is detestable.“ I have stirred up one from the north, and he comes— one from the rising sun who calls on my name. He treads on rulers as if they were mortar, as if he were a potter treading the clay.Who told of this from the beginning, so we could know, or beforehand, so we could say,‘ He was right’? No one told of this, no one foretold it, no one heard any words from you. (niv)

Who then is like me? Let him proclaim it. Let him declare and lay out before me what has happened since I established my ancient people, and what is yet to come— yes, let them foretell what will come.Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.”All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame. (niv)

Elijah went before the people and said,“ How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing. Then Elijah said to them,“ I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.Get two bulls for us. Let Baal’s prophets choose one for themselves, and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it.Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire— he is God.” Then all the people said,“ What you say is good.” (niv)

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”Then the people answered,“ Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other gods!It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. And the Lord drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites, who lived in the land. We too will serve the Lord, because he is our God.”Joshua said to the people,“ You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins.If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.”But the people said to Joshua,“ No! We will serve the Lord.”Then Joshua said,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the Lord.”“ Yes, we are witnesses,” they replied.“ Now then,” said Joshua,“ throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”And the people said to Joshua,“ We will serve the Lord our God and obey him.” (niv)

The Lord— he is God!” (niv)

“ Gather together and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save.Declare what is to be, present it— let them take counsel together.
