Isaiah 41:21-26
“ Present your case,” says the Lord.“ Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob.“ Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; Let them show the former things, what they were, That we may consider them, And know the latter end of them; Or declare to us things to come.Show the things that are to come hereafter, That we may know that you are gods; Yes, do good or do evil, That we may be dismayed and see it together.Indeed you are nothing, And your work is nothing; He who chooses you is an abomination.“ I have raised up one from the north, And he shall come; From the rising of the sun he shall call on My name; And he shall come against princes as though mortar, As the potter treads clay.Who has declared from the beginning, that we may know? And former times, that we may say,‘ He is righteous’? Surely there is no one who shows, Surely there is no one who declares, Surely there is no one who hears your words.

Is there a God besides Me? And Elijah came to all the people, and said,“ How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word. Then Elijah said to the people,“ I alone am left a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Therefore let them give us two bulls; and let them choose one bull for themselves, cut it in pieces, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it; and I will prepare the other bull, and lay it on the wood, but put no fire under it.Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord; and the God who answers by fire, He is God.” So all the people answered and said,“ It is well spoken.”

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”So the people answered and said:“ Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods;for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed. And the Lord drove out from before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also will serve the Lord, for He is our God.”But Joshua said to the people,“ You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good.”And the people said to Joshua,“ No, but we will serve the Lord!”So Joshua said to the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord for yourselves, to serve Him.” And they said,“ We are witnesses!”“ Now therefore,” he said,“ put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel.”And the people said to Joshua,“ The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!”

The Lord, He is God!”
