When your feet enter into the city, the child will die.All Israel will mourn for him and bury him; for he only of Jeroboam will come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.Moreover Yahweh will raise up a king for himself over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam. This is the day! What? Even now.For Yahweh will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and he will root up Israel out of this good land which he gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherah poles, provoking Yahweh to anger.He will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Israel to sin.”

Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.For if you do this thing indeed, then kings sitting on David’s throne will enter in by the gates of this house, riding in chariots and on horses, he, his servants, and his people.But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself,” says Yahweh,“ that this house will become a desolation.”’”For Yahweh says concerning the house of the king of Judah:“ You are Gilead to me, the head of Lebanon. Yet surely I will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons, and they will cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.“ Many nations will pass by this city, and they will each ask his neighbor,‘ Why has Yahweh done this to this great city?’Then they will answer,‘ Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh their God, worshiped other gods, and served them.’”

As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, no one with child, and no conception.Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.“ All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they give birth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb.”My God will cast them away, because they didn’t listen to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.

So Bethel will do to you because of your great wickedness. At daybreak the king of Israel will be destroyed.
