He breathed his last and died; then he joined his ancestors.His descendants settled from Havilah to Shur, which runs next to Egypt all the way to Asshur. They settled away from all their relatives.

Judges 13:16-22

But if you want to make a burnt sacrifice to the LORD, you should offer it.”( He said this because Manoah did not know that he was the LORD’s messenger.)Manoah said to the LORD’s messenger,“ Tell us your name, so we can honor you when your announcement comes true.”The LORD’s messenger said to him,“ You should not ask me my name, because you cannot comprehend it.”Manoah took a young goat and a grain offering and offered them on a rock to the LORD. The LORD’s messenger did an amazing thing as Manoah and his wife watched.As the flame went up from the altar toward the sky, the LORD’s messenger went up in it while Manoah and his wife watched. They fell facedown to the ground.The LORD’s messenger did not appear again to Manoah and his wife. After all this happened Manoah realized that the visitor had been the LORD’s messenger.Manoah said to his wife,“ We will certainly die, because we have seen a supernatural being!”

Zechariah 2:8-9
For the LORD who rules over all says to me that for his own glory he has sent me to the nations that plundered you– for anyone who touches you touches the pupil of his eye.“ I am about to punish them in such a way,” he says,“ that they will be looted by their own slaves.” Then you will know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me.

Judges 2:1-3
The LORD’s angelic messenger went up from Gilgal to Bokim. He said,“ I brought you up from Egypt and led you into the land I had solemnly promised to give to your ancestors. I said,‘ I will never break my agreement with you,but you must not make an agreement with the people who live in this land. You should tear down the altars where they worship.’ But you have disobeyed me. Why would you do such a thing?At that time I also warned you,‘ If you disobey, I will not drive out the Canaanites before you. They will ensnare you and their gods will lure you away.’”

The LORD’s messenger touched the meat and the unleavened bread with the tip of his staff. Fire flared up from the rock and consumed the meat and unleavened bread. The LORD’s messenger then disappeared.When Gideon realized that it was the LORD’s messenger, he said,“ Oh no! Master, LORD! I have seen the LORD’s messenger face to face!”The LORD said to him,“ You are safe! Do not be afraid! You are not going to die!”Gideon built an altar for the LORD there, and named it“ The LORD is on friendly terms with me.” To this day it is still there in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

The LORD’s angelic messenger came and sat down under the oak tree in Ophrah owned by Joash the Abiezrite. He arrived while Joash’s son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress so he could hide it from the Midianites.

Then a man wrestled with him until daybreak.When the man saw that he could not defeat Jacob, he struck the socket of his hip so the socket of Jacob’s hip was dislocated while he wrestled with him.Then the man said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.”“ I will not let you go,” Jacob replied,“ unless you bless me.”The man asked him,“ What is your name?” He answered,“ Jacob.”“ No longer will your name be Jacob,” the man told him,“ but Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have prevailed.”Then Jacob asked,“ Please tell me your name.”“ Why do you ask my name?” the man replied. Then he blessed Jacob there.So Jacob named the place Peniel, explaining,“ Certainly I have seen God face to face and have survived.”

Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”He added,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

Now come, I will send you to Egypt.’This same Moses they had rejected, saying,‘ Who made you a ruler and judge?’ God sent as both ruler and deliverer through the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.This man led them out, performing wonders and miraculous signs in the land of Egypt, at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.This is the Moses who said to the Israelites,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’This is the man who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors, and he received living oracles to give to you.
