He knew, for instance, that his sons were seducing the young women who assisted at the entrance of the Tabernacle.Eli said to them,“ I have been hearing reports from all the people about the wicked things you are doing. Why do you keep sinning?You must stop, my sons! The reports I hear among the Lord’s people are not good.
• Nehemiah 12:10: Jeshua the high priest was the father of Joiakim. Joiakim was the father of Eliashib. Eliashib was the father of Joiada.
• Malachi 2:8-9: But you priests have left God’s paths. Your instructions have caused many to stumble into sin. You have corrupted the covenant I made with the Levites,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions.”
• Jeremiah 23:11: “ Even the priests and prophets are ungodly, wicked men. I have seen their despicable acts right here in my own Temple,” says the Lord.
• 1 Chronicles 6 14-1 Chronicles 6 15: Azariah was the father of Seraiah. Seraiah was the father of Jehozadak,who went into exile when the Lord sent the people of Judah and Jerusalem into captivity under Nebuchadnezzar.

She must be a virgin from his own clan,so that he will not dishonor his descendants among his clan, for I am the Lord who makes him holy.”
• Nehemiah 13:28: One of the sons of Joiada son of Eliashib the high priest had married a daughter of Sanballat the Horonite, so I banished him from my presence.
• Leviticus 21:7: “ Priests may not marry a woman defiled by prostitution, and they may not marry a woman who is divorced from her husband, for the priests are set apart as holy to their God.
