Deuteronomy 9:1-2
“ Hear, O Israel: You are to cross over the Jordan today, and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to heaven,a people great and tall, the descendants of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you heard it said,‘ Who can stand before the descendants of Anak?’

Numbers 13:28-33
Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said,“ Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”But the men who had gone up with him said,“ We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying,“ The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.There we saw the giants( the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

Then Ishbi-Benob, who was one of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose bronze spear was three hundred shekels, who was bearing a new sword, thought he could kill David.But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid, and struck the Philistine and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying,“ You shall go out no more with us to battle, lest you quench the lamp of Israel.”Now it happened afterward that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbechai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was one of the sons of the giant.Again there was war at Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.Yet again there was war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number; and he also was born to the giant.So when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea, David’s brother, killed him.These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.

Judges 1:20
And they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had said. Then he expelled from there the three sons of Anak.

“ The officers shall speak further to the people, and say,‘ What man is there who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest the heart of his brethren faint like his heart.’
