Matthew 7:7-11
“ Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

All the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are in Beth Shean and its towns, and those who are in the valley of Jezreel.”Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, that is, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying,“ You are a numerous people, and have great power. You shall not have one lot only;but the hill country shall be yours. Although it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and it’s farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”

Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am just a little child. Behold, I have given you a wise and understanding heart; so that there has been no one like you before you, and after you none will arise like you.I have also given you that which you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there will not be any among the kings like you for all your days.

2 Corinthians 2 1-2 Corinthians 2 7
But I determined this for myself, that I would not come to you again in sorrow. For if I make you grieve, then who will make me glad but he who is made to grieve by me?And I wrote this very thing to you, so that, when I came, I wouldn’t have sorrow from them of whom I ought to rejoice; having confidence in you all, that my joy would be shared by all of you.For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears, not that you should be made to grieve, but that you might know the love that I have so abundantly for you.But if any has caused sorrow, he has caused sorrow, not to me, but in part( that I not press too heavily) to you all. This punishment which was inflicted by the many is sufficient for such a one;so that on the contrary you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his excessive sorrow.
