A Plea to Repent

1Israel, return to the Lord your God,14:1 Hs 6:1; 10:12; 12:6

and return to the Lord.

Say to him, “Forgive all our iniquity

and accept what is good,

A Promise of Restoration

he will blossom like the lily14:5 Sg 2:1; Mt 6:28

and take root like the cedars of Lebanon.14:5 Is 35:2

6His new branches will spread,

and his splendor will be like the olive tree,14:6 Jr 11:16

his fragrance, like the forest of Lebanon.14:6 Sg 4:11

7The people will return and live beneath his shade.14:7 Ezk 17:23

They will grow grain14:7 Hs 2:21–22

and blossom like the vine.

His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon.

It is I who answer and watch over him.

and whoever is insightful recognize them.
