The Nature of the Son

2In these last days,1:2 Ac 2:17; Gl 4:4; 2Tm 3:1; 2Pt 3:3; Jd 18 he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things1:2 Jr 3:19; 10:16; Zch 8:12 and made the universe1:2 Lit ages1:2 Ps 2:8; Jn 1:3; Col 1:16; Rv 4:11 through him.

5For to which of the angels did he ever say,

You are my Son;

or again,

I will be his Father,

6Again, when he1:6 Or When he again brings his firstborn into the world,1:6 Col 1:15,18; Rv 1:5 he says,

7And about the angels he says:

He makes his angels winds,1:7 Or spirits

Your throne, God,

is forever and ever,

and the scepter of your kingdom

is a scepter of justice.1:8 Ps 45:6–7

9You have loved righteousness

and hated lawlessness;

this is why God, your God,

has anointed you

10And:

In the beginning, Lord,

you established the earth,

11they will perish, but you remain.

and they will be changed like clothing.

But you are the same,

13Now to which of the angels has he ever said:

Sit at my right hand
